Alumni Band
I hope you are having a great summer. The OSU Band had a great year celebrating our 117th Birthday as the oldest band in the Pac-10 Conference. All year we had some fine performances, some of which many of you made happen. Thanks for your support of the OSU Bands--we are looking forward to even better things this coming year. I am writing to you to tell you about three things.
1. The 2008 football season is fast approaching and it is time to start thinking about Alumni Band! We would like to invite all alums and friends to return on Saturday, September 13 for our OSU Alumni Band and Friends Reunion for the OSU-Hawaii game at 1:00 p.m. on Foxsports Northwest. We will field a band to march shows at pregame and halftime. So please save the date and encourage anyone else you know who might be interested in participating to join us. You will also be able to get tickets for your family for $21 by logging on to:

2. Summer Pep Band Appearances.Each summer the OSU Band is invited to perform at the Albany Beaver Huddle and this year we have been invited to perform at the Oregon State Fair. Both will be short (30 minutes or less) gigs playing familiar OSU Band music.
The Albany Beaver Huddle is Friday evening, August 22 at 6:00 p.m. and the Oregon State Fair is Sunday, August 24 at 6:00 p.m. in Salem. If you can play for one or both please sign up below and we will get you all the details.
3. I would like to encourage all of you to help support the OSU Marching Band financially, by joining the OSUBANDwagon. This is the fund raising arm of the bands. At the link below is a membership form and you can find a brochure with details about the group at osumb.oregonstate.edu. Money raised by the OSUBANDwagon goes directly to support operations of the band such as scholarships, travel expenses, and uniforms. Your donation will also help us in our efforts to expand the band. So, your financial support would be a great help!

4. New Uniforms for the Alumni Band! Since we are officially a Nike school it is important that we are in Nike gear for performances. So, starting with the performances this summer we will switch our uniform for ALL Alumni Band performances to a black Nike OS Band t-shirt and jeans. The best part is you will receive the t-shirt for free—this year only! (you will have to buy them after that!) We will have shirts for you at each performance, so it is crucial that you tell us the size you would like on the return forms.
